A prestigious museum in the heart of the Valley Man
With the application "National Museum of Prehistory", discover exceptional collections retracing over 400 millennia of human presence.
Located in the Vézère valley, not far from the famous Lascaux caves, the National Prehistoric Museum offers a complete approach to the Paleolithic, the first hunter-gatherer occupations in Aquitaine until the end of the Ice Age. Stone tools, bone art objects or ivory, life-size reconstructions of prehistoric men and extinct animals make visible the great cultural and environmental changes primarily related to Neanderthals and Homo sapiens.
